Casa Loma

Located in Lakewood Hills, this modern residence is elevated six feet above the street, creating a quiet retreat that strengthens the relationship between architecture and nature. Organized around a central courtyard, the design preserves an existing mature tree whose canopy filters light and shadow throughout the home. The exterior combines richly toned dark brick, cementitious panels, and warm wood siding to create a layered and timeless material palette. Inside, the brick continues to blur the boundary between exterior and interior spaces, reinforcing a cohesive architectural language. A double-height living room introduces volume and openness, while a tucked-away reading nook and carefully curated spaces create moments of intimacy and pause. Expansive glazing and strategically framed openings bring daylight deep into the home while maintaining privacy from neighboring properties. Elevated yet deeply connected to its surroundings, the residence embodies a calm and contemporary urban retreat.
